Anita Juka, Producer She is successful producer and co-producer of feature films among which are “Here” (by Zrinko Ogresta) which won Crystal Globe - the Special Jury Prize at 39th Karlovy Vary IFF, Grand Prix at 9th Milan IFF, Critics Award at 26th Mediterranean FF Montpellier etc.), “Slovenian Girl” (by Damjan Kozole, delegate producer: Dane Hocevar) which was in competition at Warsaw, Sarajevo, Toronto, Reykjavik, Portorož, Valencia FF etc. She has produced the most successful Croatian fiction and creative documentaries that have won numerous awards at international festivals, but also achieved significant theatrical distribution in the Balkan countries. Among these are the creative documentaries “Facing the Day”, “Bad Blue Boys”, “Blue Rose Garden”, which have won major awards at - GoEast Film Festival, Sarajevo FF, DHF, DocMa - Best European Documentary etc. These films were in competition at the festival of San Paulo, Oberhausen, Teheran, Hamburg, Montreal, Toronto, Lubin, Split, Zagreb, Prizren, Budapest, Rotterdam etc. She recently produced anthology film “Some other stories” which was presented at 30 International Film Festivals, among others at: Montreal, Warsaw, Valladolid, Cairo, Kerala, Gotteborg, Manheim-Heidelberg and many others and won four international awards. In 2010. she had the honour to be the member of the jury at Warsaw Film Festival and in 2011. at Czech National Film Festival in Plsen – FINALE. Currently she is in post-production of the fiction feature film “THE OTHER”, directed by Ivona Juka. THE OTHER has been recognized and supported by international institutions and foundations such as the Croatian audiovisual centre as the best debut film, Slovenian film centre, Serbian ministry of culture and Eurimages. The screenplay has already won both domestic and international awards. In Croatia, the screenplay has won the award of the city of Split for the best screenplay and the „Branko Bauer” award issued by the society of Croatian directors. The screenplay has also been awarded the chance to participate in the NIPKOW PROGRAM – a well established German program which gives the chance of creating new screenplay versions in cooperation with world’s greatest experts to the chosen scriptwriters. During the course of year 2010, Ivona Juka, with her script for the film „THE OTHER” has been chosen as one of the ten best film projects in the world for participation in the masterclass eQuinoxe – a program backed-up by the European Commission. As a reward, Ivona Juka was given a chance to work with some of the world-class scriptwriters, winners of many world-renowned film awards. Some of the names she worked with are L.M. Kit Carson („Paris Texas”), Martin Sherman (2 nominations for the British Academy of Film award), Tim Squyers (film editor nominated for Oscar for his work on the film „Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”) and others.
